Navy Set Ablaze 10,000 Liters Of Stolen Crude Oil Found in Reservoir

Operatives of the Nigerian Navy Ship Delta, under the NNS Delta commander Commodore Shehu Tasiu, set ablaze 10,000 liters of substance suspected to be crude oil hidden in a reservoir in Otegele, Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State.

The discovery, according to the Navy, was made during an Anti-Crude oil theft operation conducted within the area of operation of the Nigerian Navy Ship Delta, following credible intelligence on suspected illicit petroleum activities in the area.

The reservoir and its content were sealed in accordance with established procedures, preventing the suspected stolen crude oil from being further utilized for illicit activities.

The operation carried out by the NNS Delta is in line with the strategic directives of Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, Chief of the Naval Staff in ensuring that critical national infrastructures are protected in the Nigerian territorial waters.
