The management of Abia State University (ABSU), Uturu, has lifted the suspension imposed on a Professor in the Department of Economics, Professor Nnamdi C. Nwaeze.

The university, in a letter dated September 3, 2026, and signed by the Acting Registrar, Dr (Mrs.) Joy Nwankwo, said the suspension was lifted following a written plea from the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Abia State University chapter (ASUU-ABSU).
The letter, titled “Lifting of Suspension,” referenced an earlier communication dated August 12, 2026, and stated that the university management had decided to lift Nwaeze’s suspension with immediate effect.
However, the university clarified that the decision did not affect the ongoing investigation into the matter.
According to the letter, the lifting of the suspension was “without prejudice to the extant investigative panel” constituted to look into the matter, adding that the university was awaiting the panel’s final report.
