The Federal Government has declared its readiness to ensure free passage of Agricultural Goods across Nigeria towards ensuring food Security. The Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, while addressing Members of the Senate Press Corp in Abuja.

He disclosed that the federal government, with the backing of the Federal Executive Council, has ordered safe passage of Agricultural commodities across various routes towards the realization of President Tinubu’s vision on food sovereignty.
On the vision of food sovereignty, Senator Abdullahi said the vision is within the ambit of food security and food sufficiency encompassing availability of the food, accessibility of the food, affordability, and in the right nutritional content on a sustainable basis.
The Minister also hinted that the Federal Government is set to launch what he called the Farmer Soil Health Scheme as well as cooperative reform and revamped program towards repositioning the Agricultural Sector for better performance and delivery.
