Ogun Police Launch Investigation into Death of Veteran Broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku, Security Guard

The Ogun State Police Command has commenced a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of veteran broadcaster and retired Ogun State Television (OGTV) personality, Ms. Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard.

The tragic incident was reported to the Owode Egba Divisional Headquarters on Sunday, June 21, 2026, by a resident of Iyana Agodo Village who raised concerns over suspicious activities observed at the deceased’s residence.

According to the Ogun State Police Command, detectives were immediately dispatched to the scene, where preliminary assessments revealed signs of forced entry and disturbance within the premises.

During a thorough search, officers discovered the corpse of the security guard inside the security post, while the body of Ms. Oyesiku was later found within her apartment. Police also observed that the deceased’s vehicle was missing from the residence, raising suspicions of foul play.

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has directed a full-scale investigation into the incident and ordered detectives to intensify efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

According to the Command, surveillance and intelligence-led operations have been expanded across relevant locations as part of efforts to identify, track and apprehend those responsible for the crime.

“The Command is committed to ensuring that all persons connected to this heinous act are brought to justice,” the police stated.

The Ogun State Police Command expressed condolences to the family of the deceased, the Ogun State Television (OGTV) community, members of the media profession and all others affected by the tragic loss.

The Command assured residents that no effort would be spared in uncovering the truth behind the incident and urged members of the public to remain calm, vigilant and provide any useful information that could assist ongoing investigations.

Police authorities reiterated their commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state while assuring the public that updates would be provided as investigations progress.
