Police have arrested and paraded suspected gun manufacturers and armed robbery syndicates, recovered arms, and ammunition in Benue State.
CP Cletus Nwadiogbu, Benue State Commissioner of Police, said the suspects who confessed to their crime would be prosecuted according to law after investigation is completed.
The Commissioner, at the Command Headquarters, Makurdi, stated that within the month of July, the activities of the suspected gun manufacturers have fueled gun violence and increased criminal activities in the state He stressed that the caliber of guns manufactured is almost same as the original AK47 and English pistols, which are dangerous.
Also paraded were members of armed robbery syndicates who were arrested in Buruku by police operatives, following information which helped to clampdown on the suspected criminals from further unleashing terror on the people.
