Kano state police command says it will obey a court order restraining the appointment of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as emir of Kano.

Speaking at a press briefing on Saturday, May 25, the Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Usaini Gumel confirmed that the Command is adhering to a court order that mandates the status quo until a ruling on June 3rd, 2024.

“We are complying with the court order that the status quo must be maintained until the court gives its judgment,” Gumel stated.

The police vow to deal with anyone who attempts to harass the Emirs heading the five emirates.

The police boss also disclosed that they have not received any order from the state governor ordering the arrest of Emir Aminu Ado Bayero. He said they only saw it on social media.
