Police Commissioner Orders Heightened Patrols Across Taraba

The Nigeria Police Force, Taraba State Command, has announced the deployment of enhanced security measures across the state to safeguard lives and property.

In a press release issued on Saturday by Victor Mshelizah, the Police Public Relations Officer, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Moorkwap S. Dongshal, the Command said the move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and maintain public order.

According to the statement, the measures were implemented in line with directives from  Olatunji Rilwan Disu, the Inspector General of Police.

The Command said it has intensified visibility policing, strategic patrols, stop-and-search operations, and intelligence-driven surveillance across the state.

“Personnel have been deployed to strategic locations including major highways, worship centres, markets, motor parks, and other public spaces to prevent any breakdown of law and order,” the statement read.

Residents were urged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities using the Command’s emergency contact lines.

The police also cautioned against the spread of misinformation capable of inciting panic or undermining public peace.

“Individuals or groups found creating or sharing unverified information will be investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law,” the statement warned.

The Command advised the public to rely only on official communication channels for accurate information, while reassuring residents of its commitment to safety.

Commissioner Dongshal urged citizens to go about their lawful activities without fear while maintaining heightened security awareness.
