Over 60 Golfers across Nigeria have converged at the Smokin Hills Golf Club,Ilara Mokin,Ondo State to celebrate the new year kitty party.
The event was held to appreciate God and to collectively celebrate the beginning of another beautiful year.
Declaring the event opened, Chief Michael Adeojo founder of Smokin Hills Golf Resort who presided over the tee off ceremony assured golfers that very soon, other facilities including water games and race course will be added to the course.
He said his establishing vision for the golf course still stands at 10% adding that with God on his side,better things will start manifesting.
Ade Ojo urged golfers to continue to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship and lessons learnt from golf.
He appreciated the kitty committe for keeping up the vision and for ensuring that members have activities to keep their minds active.
The Chairman of the Golf,Captain Engr Gboye Adegbenro represented by the Vice Chairman,Golfer Biodun Lawani appreciated the founder for his vision and promised that the executives will continue to do everything within its power to keep the prestigous course flying.
According to him: “We are indeed grateful for you immense contribution to humanity,especially for establishing and citing this prestigious course for the use of mankind in Ilara Mokin,Ondo State. It is indeed our pride”.
The objective behind the unique kitty according to the Chairman organising committe,Barr. Tunde Ogundare said the event was held to appreciating the worth of golf and health that is dependent on a complete round of golf.
The ceremony was also used to present an award of appreciation to Chief Micheal Adeojo for his vision and support to the course.
Relishing the outcome of the game, Raymond Gbadamosi won the New year kitty with
13 handicap and other golfers also went home with prizes for the best net,longest drive etc
The event did not close immediately after presentation of prizes but had in abundance sumptuous food,drinks and live band were on ground to spice up the ceremony.
