Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) has allayed the fear of Lagosians over the trending viral video about pipeline vandalism around the Aboru area of Ipaja, Lagos, describing it as a false alarm.
According to a statement signed by Mrs. Margaret Adeseye, Director of LSFRS, said viral video Incident happened in 2020, residents should disregard the video in which a male voiceover was alerting the authority of the State to come to the community’s rescue in averting the imminent danger if the vandalism results in a fire incident.
According to her, the Service had initially mobilised its firefighters to the reported address but all efforts made to trace the incident proved abortive as there was no where in the area that such incident happened recently.
She asserted that on further investigation on the matter, it was discovered that the trending video is of an old incident that had happened in the area on 30th October, 2020 and was well managed.
While imploring the general public to ignore the said trending video and go about their normal activity, Adeseye assured the populace of the capacity of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service to respond in a timely manner to any emergency across the State.
