A man has been found dead in a hotel room in Gwarimpa, Abuja, after reportedly lodging with a married woman who allegedly left the premises with his mobile phone after discovering that he was no longer breathing.
According to police investigation, the woman allegedly took the deceased’s phone and fled from the hotel after finding him unresponsive.
The incident took another turn after two hotel staff members, identified as Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus, allegedly moved the man’s body from the hotel instead of reporting the death to the police.
The two staff members allegedly transported the body and dumped it under the Katampe Bridge in Abuja.
The circumstances surrounding the man’s death, including the cause of death and events leading to the discovery of the body, are still under investigation.
Police authorities said investigations are ongoing to establish the facts of the case and determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged removal and disposal of the body.
The police also said anyone found culpable in connection with the incident would be made to face the law.
