The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has struck out the eight-count criminal charge brought against the alleged fake Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, Adeniyi Adeyemi, by the Federal Government.

Justice Mohammed Garba Umar gave the order following the request by the Federal Government to that effect, on the grounds that the matter against the defendant would be transferred to the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory for fresh arraignment.
The Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, moved the application for the termination of the charge.
Oyedepo told the court that the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice had reviewed Adeyemi’s case file and the charge filed by the Inspector-General of Police and found some loopholes.
He urged the judge to strike out the charge as required by law.
Following the absence of any objection from Ibrahim Angulu, SAN, who represented Adeyemi, Justice Umar struck out the charge.
Adeniyi Adeyemi, 38, was being tried alongside two other defendants whose whereabouts were unknown, on charges bordering on conspiracy and forgery.
