Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, President-General of pan-Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has passed away.
It was learnt that the business mogul died on Thursday after a brief illness at the age of 82 years.
His son, Jude Iwuanyanwu, confirmed the death of the elder statesman in a statement, a copy of which was obtained by newsmen
Understandably, the late Chief Iwuanyanwu was a celebrated icon of Ndigbo, and owned business interests, including a foremost media brand – Champion Newspapers.
He became the second President General of Ohanaeze Ndígbo to die in office after his predecessor, Prof. George Obiozor also died in office.
As a prominent Nigerian businessman, politician, and philanthropist, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has been active in multiple business ventures, including real estate, manufacturing, and hospitality.
In addition to his business accomplishments, Chief Iwuanyanwu has been involved in politics and has held various leadership positions within political parties.
