The 8th Ngozi Agbo Memorial Lecture is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the University of Lagos from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
This annual event, hosted by The Press Club, University of Lagos, is to commemorate the life and legacy of Ngozi Agbo, a renowned journalist who made significant contributions to Nigerian journalism.
As the pioneering editor of Campus Life at The Nation, Agbo played a crucial role in mentoring a new generation of journalists, many of whom have achieved global recognition.
Notable examples include Fisayo Soyombo and Wale Ajetomobi.
This year’s lecture, themed “AI in Journalism: Future of News Generation, Reporting, and Storytelling,” will delve into the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on journalism.
The event will feature a keynote address by David Ajikobi, Nigeria Editor at Africa Check, who will also participate in a panel session alongside other thought leaders and experts in the field.
The lecture aims to explore the intersection of AI and journalism, examining how technology is revolutionizing news generation, reporting, and storytelling.
