President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday departed Lagos for Abuja after observing the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations, following his recent state visit to the United Kingdom.

This was confirmed in a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
The President’s aircraft according to him took off from the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport at about 6:44 p.m.
Tinubu had returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom in the early hours of Friday and participated in Eid prayers at Dodan Barracks, Lagos.
During his stay in Lagos, the President held a series of engagements, including meetings with 23 state governors, among them Biodun Oyebanji.
He also received prominent personalities and delegations, including Aliko Dangote, a European Union delegation, and members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC).
Vice President Kashim Shettima was also in Lagos to brief the President on his recent visit to Borno State following a suicide bombing incident.
At the President’s residence ahead of his departure were the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, and former Ogun State Governor, Olusegun Osoba.
Also present at the airport to see him off were the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, as well as senior government officials and party leaders.
