The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has uncovered hundreds of MDMA pills, popularly known as Ecstasy, concealed in bicycle luggage carriers bound for Europe.

This agency’s Director for Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi disclosed the seizure in a narco-trend alert shared on X on Sunday.

He warned members of the public against accepting parcels or luggage whose contents they do not know or which were not packed in their presence.
According to Babafemi, operatives discovered the illicit drugs hidden inside the bicycle accessories during a recent operation.

The agency stressed that unsuspecting individuals who agree to transport such items risk being held liable if illicit substances are discovered in their possession.
The statement said, “We’ll continue to warn that we should never accept any parcel or luggage we don’t know its contents or not packed in our presence.
“The ingenuity of drug trafficking networks to use just anything for drug concealment is crazy. In the attached video and pictures, #ndlea_nigeria officers uncovered how bicycle luggage carriers were used to conceal hundreds of MDMA (Ecstasy) pills going to Europe.
“Always remember, possession makes you liable!,” the statement added.
The NDLEA has repeatedly raised concerns over the evolving concealment methods employed by drug trafficking syndicates, including hiding narcotics in lipsticks, prayer beads, yoghurt packs, MP3 players, children’s toys and vehicle side mirrors.
