The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged members of the public to disregard various results of its recent nationwide primaries circulating on social media, describing them as unofficial and unauthorized.

In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director Esq., the NDC said the authentic results of the primaries conducted across the country on May 28 and 29, 2026, are currently with the National Executive Council (NEC), which is solely responsible for announcing the outcome of the exercise.
The party emphasized that no individual or group outside the NEC has the authority to release the results of the primaries.
According to the statement, the National Leader of the party, Seriake Dickson, has directed the convening of a NEC meeting to deliberate on matters arising from the primaries and other party affairs.
As part of the arrangements, all NEC members have been directed to arrive in Abuja for a pre-NEC meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, while the main NEC meeting will hold on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
The party assured its members, supporters, and stakeholders that the official results of the primaries would be made public at the appropriate time.
It added that the names of successful candidates who will fly the party’s flag in forthcoming elections would be announced after the party submits its list of candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The NDC therefore appealed to party faithful and the general public to rely only on information released through its official channels and disregard speculative reports circulating online.
