Senator Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, Former Governor of Oyo State has said there is no contest on who becomes new Olubadan of Ibadan saying the laws are clear in this regard.
He made this statement today in Ibadan when he received in audience, the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun who was in Ibadan to commiserate with the people of Ibadan on the death of Soun of Ogbomoso, the Olubadan of Olubadan and the Late Governor Alao Akala.
Senator Ladoja said he and other Ibadan chiefs met with the Governor of Ibadan, Engr. Seyi Makinde on who becomes the new Olubadan of Ibadan and it was jointly agreed that Chief Lekan Balogun, the Otun of Ibadanland becomes the new Olubadan having decided to withdraw the matter of kingship tussle and revert back to Chiefs.
He said if it is the will of God for him to become the Olubadan in years to come,2025, 2026 or any other year, it will surely be.
Prince Dapo Abiodun in his remark commiserated with Chief Adewolu Ladoja on the demise of Kabiyesi and appreciated the maturity in which the issue of who becomes the next Olubadan of Ibadan was resolved.
