The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has activated its online portal for the recruitment of ad-hoc personnel ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

The Commission’s official INEC Portal for the Engagement of Election Staff (INECPRES) is currently open to eligible Nigerians interested in serving as election personnel during the 2027 polls. The portal states that applications will close on November 18, 2026.
According to INEC, available positions include Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), Registration Area Centre (RAC) Managers and Registration Area Technical Support (RATECH) personnel.
The Commission said applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for their preferred positions. The criteria include serving corps members and eligible penultimate students for PO/APO positions, while other categories have specific requirements relating to grade level, institutional affiliation and technical qualifications. Applicants must also meet general requirements, including not being members or supporters of political parties or candidates.
INEC advised prospective applicants to use its official recruitment portal and review the eligibility requirements before applying. Applicants are expected to provide information including a functional email address and phone number, bank account details, passport photograph, referee details, identification and relevant qualification documents.
The Commission urged eligible Nigerians interested in participating in the conduct of the 2027 elections to take advantage of the recruitment window and submit their applications through the official INECPRES platform before the November 18 deadline. The 2027 General Elections are scheduled to begin with the presidential and National Assembly elections on January 16, 2027, followed by governorship and State House of Assembly elections on February 6.
