Operatives of the 63 brigade Nigerian Army Asaba and the Sector one Joint Task Force in the south south code named Operation Delta Safe have neutralized a suspected cultist, while also arresting a notorious suspected cultist named Stephen Fregene Pessu at Pessu community, in Warri South local government area of Delta state.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Acting Assistant Director Army public relations 63 brigade Captain iLiyasu Bawa-Rijau in a statement made available by the Army, the arrested suspect confessed to be a member of a dreaded gang terrorising the area and its environs, and have provided credible information on their activities
The gang is said to be responsible for a series of kidnap related issues as well as the collection of ransom for the release of their victims. One pump action gun was said to have been recovered from the scene of a follow up operation which resulted in a firefight, during which one Mr. Dele Ogunbayo was neutralized.
