The FCT Police Command has announced the commencement of a Police Welfare Bus Scheme aimed at improving transportation and overall welfare of officers and men of the Command.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, on April 26, 2026.

The initiative, approved by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, will begin operations on April 27, 2026, according to the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi.

Under the scheme, three Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered buses have been deployed to service designated routes across the Federal Capital Territory and its environs.

The first bus will operate from the Goshen/Auta-Balefi axis through Masaka, Mararaba, and Nyanya, terminating at the Force Headquarters Area 11.

The second bus will depart from Zuba Divisional Headquarters, passing through Madalla, Abubakar Police Barracks, Brick City, Kubwa, Dutse Junction, and the Secretariat, also terminating at Area 11.

The third bus will take off from Kuje Divisional Headquarters, covering Kuje Police Barracks, Airport Road, Lugbe, and the Stadium axis before ending its route at Area 11.

All buses are scheduled to depart their respective take-off points daily at 6:15 a.m.

CP Sanusi commended the Inspector-General for the initiative, describing it as a significant step toward improving personnel welfare and working conditions. He noted that enhanced welfare would translate into better service delivery, discipline, and operational efficiency.

He urged officers and men of the Command to take full advantage of the scheme.
