The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has dismissed as fake a widely circulated result slip claiming that a candidate from Cross River State scored 394 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The alleged result, shared on X by user @Onsogbu, claimed that a female candidate identified as Okon Winniefred Sampson recorded 394 out of 400 in the examination.
The viral post stated that the candidate scored 96 in Use of English, 99 in Biology, 98 in Chemistry and 99 in Physics, describing the performance as exceptional.
Reacting in a statement issued on Sunday, Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB spokesperson, said the result slip was fabricated and should be disregarded by the public.
According to him, the board was surprised that such a false document was being circulated and shared by many Nigerians.
Benjamin explained that current UTME results are strictly view-only and not issued in printable or shareable templates, making the circulated slip immediately suspicious.
He added that the document being shared was created using a fake result format that does not correspond with the board’s official system.
The spokesperson further stated that the registration number displayed on the viral slip does not align with JAMB’s system-generated numbering pattern.
According to him, the use of the sequence “20269” on the document, alongside other visible irregularities, clearly showed that the result was not genuine.
He urged members of the public to ignore the fake result and rely only on official JAMB communication channels for verified information regarding UTME scores and admissions processes.
Benjamin reiterated that all 2026 UTME results currently remain accessible only through authorised result-checking platforms approved by the board.
