Kaduna State Governor Signs MoU for N500M, Pledges N2Bn Funding Of SMEs

Kaduna State Government has committed five hundred million naira into Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency to empower thousands of traders to grow their businesses especially at the grassroots level.

This was during the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the state government and the small and medium enterprises development agency in addressing rural urban migration and security challenges.

The Governor Uba Sani said the government was determined in empowering more traders and creating an enabling environment for small businesses to thrive while prioritizing financial literacy in driving success of the programmes

This MoU formalizes a transformative partnership aimed at revitalizing the entrepreneurial landscape of our great state by enhancing access to finance, strengthening business development support, and expanding job opportunities through the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). In just two years, we have increased the number of MSMEs in Kaduna from under 20,000 to over 180,000, an achievement that reflects our administration’s strong commitment to economic inclusion.

During his remarks, Mr. Charles Odii commended our administration’s steadfast dedication to peace and security, infrastructure development, and human capital advancement. He also praised our efforts in promoting financial inclusion and empowering small and medium-scale enterprises. Importantly, he recognized Kaduna as the best-performing state in SME support and the first state to embrace this forward-thinking initiative.
