Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State in Nigeria, is currently experiencing a severe flood that has not been seen since 1994.
The flood has forced hundreds of families to sleep outdoors, with many attempting to salvage what they can from their properties.
The neighborhoods surrounding the riverbanks have been severely affected, with many residents unable to access their homes.
The flood has caused significant disruption to the lives of the residents, leaving them without shelter or access to basic necessities.
The situation is dire and requires immediate attention and support from authorities and humanitarian organizations.
Last week, The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) issued flood alerts that some states in the North Central and Southern parts of the country of a possible overflow of the River Niger and Benue that could trigger flooding in riverine communities.
