Oluwaseun Faleye, Managing Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), says the Fund has moved from largely manual operations to a more digital, efficient and accountable institution in the last two years.

Faleye stated this in Abuja when he received the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Kamil Shoretire, visited the NSITF headquarters.
The NSITF boss said the current management inherited challenges including a top-heavy structure, career stagnation, and gaps in the deployment of human and material resources.
He explained that reforms have included a comprehensive staff audit, digital transformation, a voluntary exit exercise, and improvement of offices and operational tools.
Faleye added that the reforms are already expanding coverage under the Employees’ Compensation Scheme, with treasury-funded MDAs onboarded and the first batch of five beneficiaries recently paid compensation.
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Dr. Kamil Shoretire urged the Fund to strengthen collaboration with sister agencies to extend Employees’ Compensation Scheme coverage to workers in the informal sector while also prioritising preventive measures for workplace safety.
