A collision between two Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) buses in Lagos’s Mangoro area injured several passengers on Thursday morning. The accident occurred within the BRT lane on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway when one BRT bus swerved to avoid a commercial bus that entered the restricted lane.

The swerving BRT bus collided head-on with another BRT bus approaching from the opposite direction. Emergency responders and bystanders helped transport the injured passengers to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that no fatalities were recorded in the accident. Traffic officials later arrived at the scene to control congestion and clear the damaged vehicles from the road.
The incident highlights concerns about BRT safety in Lagos, particularly regarding unauthorized vehicles entering restricted BRT lanes. Stricter enforcement and penalties for violating lane restrictions could help prevent similar accidents.
