Alumni Chair donates to Unilag Security Unit

It was the turn of the University of Lagos Security unit to benefit from the goodwill of Benjamin Olowojebutu foundation, a non-for profit organisation established by Dr. Oluwatosin Olowojebutu, Chairman, Unilag Alumni Association, Lagos Branch who were presented with security items.

At the presentation of the items, the Executive Director and Chairman University of Lagos Alumni Branch, Dr. Benjamin Olowojebutu, on Monday said the support items to the University of Lagos Security Unit was in fulfillment of his promise during the period of electioneering campaign to become the Alumni chairman saying on November 16, 2020,I made a promise and here I am to fulfil my promise.

The items donated include Security berets, torch lights, stationeries, security belts, whistles, public address system, table calendars and jotters.

“At the last Alumni elections on Sunday, December 12, 2020, the security not only voted massively but also provided security when things almost went chaotic”,Olowojebutu said.

The Alumni Chair while addressing the security men during the morning parade said his coming was to keep his promise saying that after he survived an accident some years ago, he has decided to serve humanity.

In addition to what he donated, he also promised to repair some damaged patrol vans, towing vehicle and any other area he can render support to the unit. 
In a swift response, Mr. Sunday Alao, Chief Security Officer of UNILAG appreciate Dr. Olowojebutu for living up to his promises and for being the first Chairman of UNILAG Alumni Lagos Branch to support the security unit personally.

Alao further called for more support to help operations saying the University management cannot do it alone.
Dr. Olowojebutu also used the opportunity to decorate Mr. Collins Otu, a member of security unit, who supported him greatly during the electioneering campaign to become chairman with belt and beret.
In his entourage were; Mr. Olusegun Adeleke, First Vice Chairman of UNILAG Alumni Lagos branch and Dr. Priscilla Etoikpa ,Welfare Secretary, UNILAG Alumni Lagos Branch.
Others present at the event include Mr. Motunrayo Omotosho, Chief Operations Officer Security Unit, and Other Invited guests.
