The Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria, (GOMAN) have elected a new leader to steer the activities of the organisation for the next three years.
Evangelist Funmi Aragbaiye at its 2016 national elections emerged as the new President for the association after defeating the two other candidates, Evangelist Philip Olayiwola and Rev karis Ekpeyong with double of their votes.
The emergence of Fumi Aragbaiye signalled the end of the tenure of Evangelist Timi Osunkoya popularly known as Telemi now Orokoya three year single tenure as president.
In an interview with the popular Artiste, Funmi Aragbaiye, she thanked the almighty for making her witnessing the day after lots of call to serve the association which she earlier rejected. She attributed her success to God and progressive GOMAN members.
According to her,” I am going to work with everybody including the candidates that lost. By God’s grace, one of our agenda is to get a befitting secretariat for the association with the help of God”.
The Chairman of the GOMANEC election with the responsibility of conducting election in various officers in the association, Pastor Oluwaseun Oluwatunmbi said we have never had it so good like this in the association for a long time. Before it was selection, now it was a real contested election which had a clear winner.
Evangelist Lanre teriba also emerged as deputy west while Hon Paul Ayodele North and Pst. Gabriel ibikunle as the new General Secretary.
The event was well attended by State branches while many attributed the success of the new Presidents at the polls to her many years of dedication to the work of God in the area of song ministration and her will to move the association forward.
