By Damilare Adeleye

The Organised Labour unions have, on Friday, walked out on the government team at the Tripartite Committee meeting on new national minimum wage over the inability of the government to make new offer beyond N60,000.

A source at the meeting disclosed that negotiations hit the brick wall when the government and the organized private sector remained adamant on the N60,000 offer, they made on Tuesday.

It was learnt that talks to reach a compromise on a new minimum wage for workers in the public service hit deadlock.

With the latest development, there are strong indications that the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress may begin to mobilise for a strike as they have scheduled a press conference by 4pm at the national headquarters.
