A Federal High Court presiding in Abuja has struck out treason charges brought against 119 Nigerians including detained minors since August for participating in the #EndBadGovernance protest.
This was pronounced by the Trial Judge, Justice Obiora Egwuatu, who struck out the case following an application by the counsel to the Attorney General of the Federation, M. D Abubakar, to take over and discontinue the suit.
Abubakar had applied to take over and discontinue the suit.
At the session Abubakar prayed the court to allow the AGF take over the charge.
Although the accused persons were not in court, the judge ordered their immediate release from prison.
