The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has so far collated results from 15 out of the 18 local government areas in Ondo State following the November 2024 gubernatorial election.
The State Returning Officer, Prof. Olayemi Durotimi Akinwumi of the Federal University of Lokoja, Kogi State, made this announcement at the collation centre in Akure, the state capital.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has swept all 15 local government areas declared so far by INEC’s returning officers.
The APC candidate secured 301,113 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate garnered a total of 97,051 votes in the 15 LGAs announced so far.
The INEC State Returning Officer adjourned the collation process until 12 noon today, citing delays caused by the distance of the remaining local governments.
The three local government areas yet to be collated are Odigbo, Ilaje, and Ese-Odo.
Meanwhile, the PDP agent raised objections to the results from Idanre, alleging that elections did not hold in Ofoso and that ballot boxes were snatched in Alade/Atosin.
The returning officer assured the PDP agent that the concerns raised would be addressed.
