Sheriff Oborevwori Urges Delta Community to Embrace Dialogue over Conflict

By Ikugbadi Oluwasegun

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta state has appealed to youths of NDOKWA nation to embrace dialogue rather than confrontation that will breach the relative peace in the state.

Governor Sheriff made this known at the government house in Asaba when he received leaders of the Ndokwa nation on the crisis between its youths and oil multinationals over employment and other issues.

The governor promised to do everything within his powers to resolve the impending crisis, as he reiterates the call for peace.

Responding, the head of the delegation and retired military officer Brigadier General Mike Ndubuisi said the youths may take laws into their hands except the government call the oil multinationals to order.

The meeting had in attendance representatives from the United Nations children’s fund (UNICEF), the United Nations educational, scientific and cultural organisation (UNESCO), the World Bank group, and the European Union (EU), amongst others.
