Pastor Bolaji Idowu, the lead Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center (HICC), has been reportedly arrested by the Nigerian police over alleged N1.5billion fraud.

It was learnt that the popular clergyman was being grilled by operatives of Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja.

Reports indicated that the Pastor Bolaji Idowu would spend the night in the police custody.

A top police source was quoted as saying, “The Next Level Prayer Conference, Pastor Bolaji Idowu, has been arrested by the police, and he is being grilled in Abuja over real estate fraud and money laundering.

“He is at the FCID Abuja as we speak.”

“The case emanated from one of his pastors who duped several people in a real estate scheme,” one of the top security sources also revealed.

“The police investigation showed that several billions of naira in the scheme were traced first to Pastor Bolaji’s church account and later to his personal account,” the source added.

Known for founding the church in 2003 and for his “Next Level Prayers” platform, Pastor Idowu has gained widespread recognition.

Harvesters Church, which claims over 70,000 worshippers across its physical and online congregations, has expanded internationally with locations in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.
