By Ikugbadi Oluwasegun

Enugu, Rivers and Ogun state Governors have expressed shock and dismay over the dilapidated state of security training facilities in Nigeria, following a recent assessment tour.

The high-powered delegation, formed under the National Economic Council (NEC), visited the Nonwa Police Training School in Rivers where they were confronted with a scene of severe neglect and decay. The inspection is part of a mandate to overhaul and modernize the nation’s security training institutions.

The NEC Committee on the Overhaul of Security Training Institutions, led by Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, began its crucial assessment in Rivers State. What they found at the Nonwa Police Training School was described as a serious indictment of decades of neglect.
