The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has announced that Freedom Park, Lagos Island, will be temporarily closed for renovation works from Monday, 5th to Sunday, 11th October, 2026.

A statement signed by Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila, Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, said the temporary closure is to allow for scheduled maintenance and upgrade works aimed at enhancing visitor experience and preserving the historic facility.
She revealed that the park would be reopened to the public immediately after the renovation exercise.
The Permanent Secretary stressed that the Lagos State Government regrets any inconvenience the temporary closure may cause members of the public.
