The Police have arrested eight suspects for armed robbery and guns running in Delta State. The suspects are currently detained at the Delta State Police Command Headquarters, Asaba.
Edafe Bright, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Delta State Command, said they were arrested by operatives of the Anti-Cult group, in collaboration with the Civilian Anti-Cult, who trailed them to the Asaba-Benin expressway.
The PPRO said four locally made firearms, four live cartridges, one expended cartridge, a knife, and other incriminating exhibits were recovered from them.
The arrested suspects were identified to be members of a gun running syndicate operating between Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South LGA, and Asaba.
CP Yemi Oyeniyi, Delta State Police Commissioner, reiterated the command’s unwavering commitment to sustaining intelligence-led and proactive policing operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks in the state.
