Nigeria and Angola have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations for mutual benefit.
This was when Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a bilateral meeting with her Angolan counterpart, Téte António, on the sidelines of the ongoing African Union Executive Council Meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Both ministers agreed to support each other’s candidatures in international organizations and to work together on peace and security on the African continent.
Discussions also covered enhanced collaboration through exchange study visits and preparations for the extraordinary session of the African Union assembly scheduled to hold in Luanda, Angola, from 29th to 30th August 2026.
They also addressed visa issuance for Nigerians travelling to Angola for business and tourism and agreed on the need to facilitate easier movement of people between the two countries.
They further discussed other issues of mutual interest aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation and advancing shared African priorities.
