The Ogun State Police Command has intensified efforts to rescue victims abducted from a private hostel in the Ipara area of the state, following the incident that occurred on the night of Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
The Command said it immediately activated a coordinated security response involving the police and other security agencies after receiving a distress report about the abduction.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, tactical teams and intelligence assets have been deployed to the area, while rescue operations are ongoing to secure the safe release of the victims and arrest those responsible for the attack.
“The Police and other security agencies activated a coordinated operational response, deploying tactical teams and intelligence assets to the area. Rescue operations are ongoing to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and the apprehension of those responsible,” the statement read.
The Command appealed to parents, students, and members of the public to remain calm and avoid spreading misinformation that could jeopardize the ongoing rescue efforts.
It also urged residents to support security agencies by promptly reporting suspicious persons or activities through the Gateway Shield toll-free line (0800 000 9111) or the emergency numbers 09164859299 and 09154293464.
The police assured residents that every available resource is being deployed to ensure the victims are rescued safely and the perpetrators are brought to justice.
