Troops deployed under Operation ENDURING PEACE have disrupted an alleged attempt by armed men to infiltrate Manja community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident occurred on Saturday after security personnel received intelligence about the movement of armed individuals suspected to be planning an attack on the community.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the development in a post on X on Sunday.

According to the report, troops swiftly mobilised to the area, forcing the suspected attackers to withdraw into nearby bushes with their cattle.

The troops later received another alert at about 4:12 p.m. indicating an attempted infiltration of Manja village. They subsequently launched a pursuit operation while maintaining a strong security presence around the community.

Offensive patrols and clearance operations were also conducted across the area as part of efforts to prevent the suspected attackers from regrouping or making another attempt to enter the community.

Security sources said troops remained deployed around Manja and neighbouring communities, maintaining pressure on the suspected attackers and protecting residents from further threats.
