CP Bode Ojajuni, Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Police Command, has visited the Ibogun Campus of Olabisi Onabanjo University to assess the security situation and engage stakeholders on measures to enhance safety within the institution and its host community.

The CP, accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Bolanle Muritala, and the Area Commander, Ifo, Seyi Williams, held a strategic meeting with the Vice-Chancellor, Ayodeji Johnson Agboola; the Provost, College of Engineering and Environmental Sciences, Bashir Olufemi Odufuwa; and the Olu of Ibogun-Sowumi, Timothy Sowumi, alongside other principal officers and community leaders.
Student representatives, including members of the Student Union Government, were also present and raised concerns over security challenges affecting the campus and surrounding areas. The university management and community leaders echoed similar concerns, with all parties agreeing on the need for coordinated solutions.
In response, CP Ojajuni assured stakeholders that the Command would immediately strengthen security architecture around the university through increased patrols, proactive policing, and sustained engagement.
As a key outcome of the visit, the CP announced the establishment of a police post within the university community to enhance rapid response, improve visibility, and deepen community policing efforts.
He also disclosed plans for strengthened collaboration with other security agencies, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Amotekun Corps, and So-Safe Corps, to ensure comprehensive security coverage.
The CP further visited the Ibogun Divisional Police Headquarters, where he assessed operational readiness and issued directives to improve efficiency and service delivery.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to community policing, inter-agency collaboration, and continuous stakeholder engagement in maintaining peace and security across Ogun State.
