A fire outbreak at a residential building on Bola Street, Oyingbo, has resulted in the death of a 103-year-old woman.

The incident, according to a preliminary report released by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), reportedly started in one of the rooms within the building before spreading to eight others. The inferno also extended to six nearby shops, destroying property estimated to be worth millions of naira.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. However, emergency responders—including the LASEMA Rescue Team from Onipanu, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the Nigerian Police, and other critical stakeholders—were able to contain and extinguish the fire.
