NAFDAC Uncovers Shops Packaging Fake Postinor-2, Other Drugs in Aba

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has on Friday conducted an enforcement operation at Ekumi Plaza in Ariaria Market, Aba uncovered a shop involved in the packaging and sales of unregistered and falsified drugs, mainly contraceptives like Postinor-2, counterfeit Ampiclox GSK from India, Vega Plus 100, Claratem-QS, Ampicloxa Capsules, Amoxicillin 500mg, Alcopar, and Maloxine Tablets.

Officials also found over ₦5 million in the shop owner’s table drawers. When contacted by the DSS, the owner denied any connection to the shop.

Further investigations revealed the presence of methamphetamine (mkpuru mmiri) in the shop and other locations within the plaza.
