Fire Service Issues Warning Ahead of Harmattan Season

By Ikugbadi Oluwasegun

The Federal Fire Service is sounding the alarm early, calling on Nigerians to stay alert as the harmattan season draws nearer.

Hosting heads of state fire services in Abuja, Controller General, Samuel Olumode says collaboration is key to curbing fire outbreaks and strengthening response nationwide.

With dry winds approaching, the Fire Service says prevention starts with caution – from switching off electrical appliances to avoiding open burning.

The Controller-General also inaugurated a Task Force on Public Building Audit, set up after the AFRITOWER fire in Lagos, as part of efforts to enforce safety standards and reduce disaster risks across the country.
