The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) has attributed the system disturbance which resulted in loss of power from the National grid to tripping of a Generation company.
The incident, NISO says resulted in significant load drop that cascaded to other Generation companies leading to system disturbance.
NISO says restoration of the grid has commenced immediately with supply to Abuja from Shiroro power plant and substantial restoration has been achieved across the country.
Investigation has commenced with outcome to determine proactive action to forestall future occurrence.
