IGP VISITS MINISTRY OF POLICE AFFAIRS, BRIEFS NEW MINISTERS ON NATIONAL SECURITY

IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Acting Inspector General of Police, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Police Affairs today to congratulate and brief the newly appointed Ministers on the internal security situation of the country, emphasizing the need for enhanced synergy in tackling the evolving security challenges facing our nation.

During the visit, the IGP who was accompanied by the members of the Force Management Team, had fruitful discussions with Ibrahim Gaidam, Honourable Minister, ,and Hajia Imaan Suleiman-Ibrahim, Minister of State, addressing critical issues such as the state of national security, ongoing police reforms, and strategies to enhance collaboration between the NPF and the Ministry of Police Affairs.

Recognizing the significance of modernizing the NPF and promoting community-oriented policing programs, the Honourable Minister assured the IGP of the Ministry’s unwavering support towards the implementation of key reforms and initiatives. They acknowledged the pivotal role played by the police in maintaining law and order and pledged their dedication to providing the necessary resources, infrastructure, and training required for the Force to efficiently discharge its duties and protect the lives and property of all Nigerians.

The IGP emphasized that the visit highlights the undeniable need for collaborative efforts for improved security architecture in the nation. He reiterated the importance of creating an enabling environment for officers and urged all stakeholders to support the ongoing reform efforts of the current administration.
