Gbajabiamila’s “Anointed” Emerges Candidate For Surulere Reps Bye-Election

Fuad Laguda has been elected as candidate for the House of Representatives by-election in Surulere Constituency 1, Lagos state. 

Laguda is in the race to replace Femi Gbajabiamila, former speaker of the house, who represented the Lagos constituency before his appointment as chief of staff to President Bola Tinubu.

During the primary, which held at the Teslim Balogun stadium on Saturday, Laguda defeated Kabir Lawal, Jamila Omobolanle and Abdul Raheem Owokoniran to win the ticket.

He secured all 30 votes of the delegates that voted in the election.

The election, billed for February 3, will be conducted to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of the former speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, as the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.
