Former Minister Mamman Jailed Following N22bn Verdict

Saleh Mamman, former of Minister of Power, has been sent to prison, following the verdict of the Federal High Court Abuja on Wednesday, July 11, 2024.

Before the court pronouncement, it was learnt that the former Minister collapsed outside the court room while his legal representative, Femi Ate, SAN was presenting his prayers to the court.

Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has ordered that Mamman should be remanded until his bail application is reviewed.

Justice Omotosho granted the order due to the 12 count charges bordering on money laundering by the former Minister.

However, the Judge has scheduled the bail hearing to Friday, July 12, 2024. Justice Omotosho thereby stated that the defendant should be held in Kuje Correctional Center till tomorrow.

Femi Ate, SAN, the legal representative of Saleh Mamman argued that the defendant is unwell, and unfit to be remanded at the correctional center.
