Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta has announced the dissolution of the 2023/2024 Students Union Executives of the school.
According to a statement issued by Yemi Ajibola, Head, Public Relations and Protocol for the institution, the dissolution was taken at the emergency meeting held on Tuesday, 14th January, 2025.
The statement explained that, “The dissolution was as a result of the expiration of their tenure by effluxion of time, being currently in the first semester of the 2024/2025 academic session.”
“Consequently, the 2023/ 2024 Union Executives is hereby dissolved. Hence, they should STOP PARADING themselves as Students’ Union Executives of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta,” it added.
It was recalled that the school management shut down academic activities in the institution effective from Monday, January 13, 2025, till further notice.
The school authorities said the shutting down was ensure the safety of lives and properties owing to the protest by some students on the decision of the management to verify their National Diploma results from their former schools.
The students were also said to be protesting an alleged increment in their tuition fees and delay in the mobilisation of their Higher National Diploma students for the National Youth Service Corps.
