The management of Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun State, has announced the promotion of Dr. Felix Talabi to the rank of full professor of Mass Communication.
The promotion follows decades of exceptional accomplishments in the advertising industry and an impressive academic trajectory. Professor Talabi has distinguished himself as both a seasoned industry professional and a respected scholar, contributing significantly to journalism, public relations, advertising, and media studies.
Notably, he is ranked among the Top 500 Nigerian Researchers and is one of only three Mass Communication scholars featured in the 2025 list compiled by SciVal and Scopus. He also boasts over 110 scholarly publications in reputable journals and holds membership in several professional bodies.
The announcement stems from the university’s 2024 academic staff assessment exercise.
Reacting to the news, media scholar Dr. Tosin Adesile congratulated Professor Talabi, describing the promotion as “well deserved” and praising his dedication to both academia and industry.
