The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging an influx of Fulani herdsmen into Anguwan Dobi in the Gwagwalada Area Council, describing the claims as misleading.

The Command said it became aware of videos and reports suggesting an imminent security threat in the area and immediately deployed operatives to investigate the situation.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, police teams were sent to the location and adjoining communities to assess the claims and ascertain the true situation on the ground.
She stated that no unusual gathering, suspicious movement, or persons matching the descriptions in the viral reports were found during the investigation.
“The Command wishes to assure residents that it is closely monitoring developments within the area, while investigation is still ongoing to fully ascertain the facts surrounding the matter,” the statement said.
The police urged residents of the Federal Capital Territory to remain calm and continue with their lawful activities without fear or apprehension.
The Command also reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of lives and property across the territory.
Residents were advised to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movement or activities to the nearest police station.
