First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Discourages Child Labour; Wants Thriving Environment For Children

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu says no child should be subjected to forced labour or denied the opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve their dreams.

In her message marking this year’s World Day Against Child Labour with the theme “Red Card to Child Labour: Fair Play for Children, Decent Work for Adults,” the First Lady notes the need for the country to reaffirm commitment to protecting every child’s right to safety, education, dignity, and well-being.

She emphasized that children belong in homes, classrooms, playgrounds and safe environments where they can grow and thrive, she calls for sustained investment in their well-being, opportunities that empower families and communities to take care of them, while urging Nigerians to work together for a promising future by raising a red card against child labour.
